Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer Do-Gooders

When there is a problem to be addressed, a need to be met or a crisis to be confronted, they rush in to help.

They are Do-Gooders -- the nonprofit organizations that work to support those in need and to strengthen the community for all of us.

Once again at the end of the year, the Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer will recognize 10 organizations for the outstanding contributions they bring to life in Bucks and eastern Montgomery counties.

From now until Dec. 1, we invite you to nominate a nonprofit organization you think does great work and could use some good publicity to support its endeavors.

The 10 organizations selected as the 2014 Do-Gooders will be profiled in the two newspapers and online between Dec. 22 and Dec. 31. Then the public will have an opportunity to select two from among the 10 organizations that will be awarded $5,000 worth or advertising space in the Courier Times or The Intelligencer. Online voting will begin Jan. 1.

Nearly 250 nominations of more than 70 organizations were received last year. Two youth sports organizations -- the Miracle League of Northampton Township and the Pride of Quakertown -- were selected by the community to receive the advertising prize.

No charity is too small or too big to be considered. Only the charities that were recognized in previous years will be kept out of consideration this time around.
